A project that is working to organize the stairs in the Fineview neighborhood of Pittsburgh into a formalized network of trails that will provide runners, hikers, and walkers with a clearly marked course and introduce them to the challenges, vistas, and history that make up the diverse landscape of Fineview. The Fineview neighborhood is situated on the bluff behind Allegheny General Hospital and Central Northside. For this project, the Fineview Citizens Council will hire a local organization to record conditions and provide an assessment of the stairs that would provide the data to create a plan of action for preservation of the stairs. The project will also provide wayfarer and interpretive signage for the trail. Finally, the project will create partnerships with other neighborhood organizations, healthcare institutions and local non-profits that encourage exercise.
