The Sprout Fund’s Annual Benefit Party
The Sprout Fund will host its annual Hothouse event on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the old Don Allen Auto City at Baum Boulevard & Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood.
What They’re Saying About Hothouse…
PhilanthroPARTY
“Tossing out the book on the fundraiser, the latest installment of Hothouse will transform Bloomfield’s Don Allen City into a blinking and bleeping carnival for a night. Formerly a show place for automobiles, the high-visibility corner will now provide the backdrop for an ambitious lineup of performers and projects. Long lauded as one of the city’s top parties, the distinctive bash draws a wide cross-section of Pittsburgh’s art, business, social and urbanista circles which all converge to support Sprout’s mission.”

Haven’t seen anything like Saturday night’s Hothouse party
“The old Don Allen auto dealership in Bloomfield — a longtime landmark of Pittsburgh’s “auto row” — has probably seen some excitement in its day. How could buying your first car — or splurging on a Camaro — be anything but exciting? But it’s safe to say that the dealership, vacant these past several years, hasn’t seen anything like Saturday night’s Hothouse party — which will somehow be an ultra-hip night of cutting-edge music, food, drink and performance, and a charming, old-timey county fair and carnival.”

‘That really good Hot House party’
“The weekend before Labor Day, the same organization that turned naked building walls from the South Side and Squirrel Hill into vibrant, colorful works of art, will turn the vacated Don Allen Auto City on Baum Boulevard into the best party in town. ‘Most people know us from the murals,’ said Matt Hannigan, co-founder and deputy director of the Sprout Fund. ‘Then there are a lot of people who know us just for “that really good Hot House party.”‘”
