The Sprout Fund’s programs are unique within Southwestern Pennsylvania, with a distinctive approach to facilitating community change and creating social impact through a blend of grantmaking, community engagement strategies, and other forms of support. Since 2001, Sprout has supported 481 projects and invested more than $4.1 million in the people and communities in Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Community Connections supported 100 projects across Southwestern Pennsylvania that encouraged civic engagement to commemorate the Pittsburgh region’s 250th anniversary in 2008.
Engage Pittsburgh convening members of Pittsburgh’s grassroots communities at a day-long civic forum called The Idea Round Up and offered catalytic funding to projects to turn some of Pittsburgh’s best new ideas into reality.
