Making Sparks

Making Sparks is an annual symposium to convene community members, previous grantees, and other stakeholders from the education, technology and media sectors. The program includes panel discussions, expert presentations, and ideation sessions to generate ideas for Super Spark projects.

Spark at the Waffle Shop

Before each funding deadline, Spark invites applicants to meet with Sprout staff for one-on-one assistance along with breakfast of waffles and coffee. Spark project managers also take part in the Waffle Shop’s live talk show to share their success stories with prospective applicants.

Spark on the Saturday Light Brigade

Spark projects are regularly featured on on the Saturday Light Brigade where host Larry Berger interviews project managers who share their stories as well as upcoming project events and activities with a regional audience.

Spark in the Community

Spark projects are showcased at public events throughout the year, including Fred Forward at the Children’s Museum, the Geek Arts/Green Innovators Festival, the WYEP Summer Music Festival, and more.

Application Deadlines

Spark has made all of its funding awards for 2011 and there are no current funding opportunities. Check back regularly to see when our first funding round will be in 2012.

Application Workshops

The Sprout Fund hosts a one-hour funding programs workshops at its offices at 5423 Penn Avenue from 12pm to 1pm on the second Friday of every month.
